$39 self-pay for patients not using insurance for the visit. Prescriptions are not guaranteed and are issued only when medically appropriate.
For U.S. and international visitors
If you are physically located in Texas and lose an established maintenance medication during your trip, an Americare clinician can evaluate whether a temporary replacement prescription is appropriate.
Bring as much verification as possible
- Photo of the original package or label if available
- Pharmacy or prescribing-clinician information
- Medication name, dose, and schedule
- Recent relevant medical records or labs
- For international visitors, English translation of medication information when reasonably available
Not every lost medication can be replaced through telehealth
Controlled substances, opioids, benzodiazepines, ADHD stimulants, complex pain medications, and other excluded categories are outside this refill pathway. Some requests require in-person care, records, or additional monitoring.
A foreign prescription is not simply transferred. The clinician independently evaluates whether prescribing in Texas is medically and legally appropriate.
