Practical questions before you start
Can I get useful answers without becoming a patient?
Yes. All information here and our linked health guides is free to read without payment, registration or a visit. If you want individual diagnosis or prescribing, a clinical evaluation is required. You remain free to use your regular clinician, another local practice or any appropriate facility.
Can everything be handled without video?
No single format suits every concern. You can read answers and start a refill request online without an appointment. Our virtual walk-in service currently uses video for new symptoms. New refill patients are contacted by phone or video before prescribing; established-patient contact depends on clinical need. A questionnaire or photo can support evaluation but does not guarantee diagnosis or treatment. This website does not promise a purely questionnaire-only clinic.
How much, and do you accept insurance?
$39 covers one self-pay clinical evaluation, with no membership or subscription. Medicines, outside labs, imaging, in-person examinations and later evaluations are separate unless explicitly included. Eligible BCBSTX PPO patients can ask for coverage verification before paying; copays and deductibles depend on the plan. No insurance is required for self-pay. Ask the team about the total before starting; do not assume a listed lab price includes every collection or facility charge. Pricing details · Care without insurance.
When will I get an answer or a prescription?
Walk-in hours are Monday–Friday 11 AM–7 PM and Saturday noon–4 PM Central, closed Sunday. Refill reviews occur during business hours. Waits and completion depend on clinician coverage, patient volume, records and any testing needed. No 60-minute or two-hour guarantee is offered. Prescription transmission is separate from pharmacy dispensing; call the pharmacy about pickup. Outside hours, replies are not immediate.
What if online care is not enough?
Your clinician may recommend an examination, swab, urine test, imaging, urgent care or the ER. Your fee pays for the clinical evaluation and generally is not refunded once review starts, even if the next step is in-person care. Cancellation before review starts is refundable. If a significant technical problem prevents meaningful clinical service, our policy offers rescheduling or a refund. Full refund and technical-problem policy.
Do I need an app? What if the connection fails?
The check-in works in a phone browser; no app download is required to join. Intake time depends on your concern and history. Have your callback number ready. If video disconnects, try rejoining and call 469-951-0477; the team can help reconnect and determine the next step. Do not assume a disconnected session is complete.
Is care anonymous? Can I send photos?
Care is private but not anonymous. Identity, age, physical location and consent must be confirmed. Use the secure clinical intake or portal for medical information, prescription-label photos and images requested by your clinician. Do not send intimate images, medication lists or insurance photos by ordinary SMS or email. For skin photos, use good light, no filters, and both an overall and close view; ask the team how to submit securely.
Can I use my pharmacy, get a note or speak Spanish?
Appropriate prescriptions go to your selected pharmacy and show our Fairview practice. Local origin does not guarantee stock, acceptance, insurance approval or faster dispensing. Work or school notes depend on clinical assessment; completion and clearance are not guaranteed. This online service is for adults 18+, including adult students; children need pediatric care elsewhere. Spanish-speaking assistance and certified medical interpreters by phone are available; request language help before care. Información en español.
How do I get results or follow-up?
Ask about the FollowMyHealth portal invitation and how results will be communicated. Contact us if results have not arrived within the timeframe given. Portal messages are not monitored continuously. A new concern may require another paid evaluation, with any fee explained first. Emergencies should never wait for a portal reply.
